because of sagging, and the overall small size of her breasts,
may be a candidate for a combined procedure of breast lift
and augmentation. Usually, it is possible to achieve some
degree of breast lift with breast augmentation alone as the
area of visible breast skin below the nipple areolar complex
is increased with breast implant placement. However, when
there is significant breast sagging and the nipples and areolas
are at the lowest pole of the breast, augmentation alone
would exaggerate the sagging appearance of the breasts, both
in and out of clothes, producing unacceptable results.
Therefore, a woman who has nipple areaolar complex set
below the crease under the breast, may not achieve
satisfactory results with augmentation alone. Conversely, it is
possible to correct the position of the nipples and areolas, as
well as the size of the areolas, through a breast lift alone.
However, a breast lift does not add volume to the breasts.
